The corner stones of the Fethiye Tourism, Promotion, Education, Culture and Environment Foundation were laid in 1994 when 103 passionate lovers of Fethiye got together and founded FETÇEV, (Fethiye Tourism, Culture and Environmental Education Foundation) urged by the aspiration of leaving a model city with unspoiled nature, preserved culture and high quality in tourism for future generations, and instigated very significant projects.
Thanks to self-sacrificing endeavours, numerous activities were organized projects were drawn up in connection with prominent environmental and social issues. In the year 2001, with the aim of making further contributions to the tourism and promotional efforts, certain alterations were made in the Charter of the Foundation and it was decided to carry out under the name of FETAV (Tourism, Promotion, Education, Culture and Environment Foundation). In a short while, this newly empowered structure gave way to an establishment, with the contributions and participation of the non-governmental organizations and volunteers, embracing our town on the whole.
FETAV, continues to render its services with its model Charter of the Foundation, targets and fulfilment of projects as the Foundation of Residents in Fethiye.
